CHAPTER 12-EDAN'S LOVE CONFESSION [in Ci Ci's room] Ice: you completely spoke my heart. Ci Ci[flipping pages of the bible]: you don't need a genius to figure that one. [reads directly from the bible] I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me; I was found by those who did not seek for me. Ice: There are a lot things I still don't understand. Things that people can't always help. Ci Ci: A patient man has great understanding, but a quick-tempered man displays folly. Ice: will I have the energy to wait for it? Ci Ci: Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. Ice: yes. Ci Ci: I can do everything through him who gives me strengh. Not everyone may be a believer of God but everyone has a God in them. Ice: Believing does not neccessarily mean understanding or even have to be understood...carrying that mind is always the leading strengh... Ci Ci[smiles]: where did that come from? I really believe in that, Bing. I cannot live around a life full of dimness and dreadful horror. Ice[picks up the bible]: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. I think you have understood that more than I ever will. Tommy: I saw her having trouble crossing the streets...I guess people can be too over concern Jaye: Especially when they are senior citizens. Tommy: umm...where do you live? I'll give you a lift... Jaye: It's ok...i drove too....[they split] [minutes later...] [Jaye walks into the building...Tommy walks in behind her..] Jaye[turns around]: hey, Lau Sir... Tommy: You live here? [at night....Ice comes home] Ice: Hi everyone...[shocked] Tommy? Jaye: Yes, Tommy. Ice: what are you doing here? Edan: he's our neighbor..he's welcome anytime! Ice: no..i didn't mean it that way... Tommy: I have to hop back home now....nice chatting with you guys...[Tommy leaves] Ice: So what did you all talk about? anything interesting? Jaye: nothing to be repeated over...why did you asked? Ice[smiles]: just curious...[sense Jaye's disbelieve] [next day..] Ice: Are you sure we are going the same way? I don't want to trouble you. [wants to get rid of Edan] Edan: no...I'm quite free today... Ice: I think I'll know my way around... Edan: Nah, it's too risky...[they get in to the elevator...] [Both Edan and Ice mindlessly pressed at the same time...but only pressing the wrong floor...unexpectedly, the elevator gave up on them...stopping in between floor...] Ice[the lights went off]: oh my god... Edan: we're stuck here... Ice: you mean for real stuck? Edan: I don't kid....this happens very often...use to it... Ice[endlessly pressing the alarm button...]: how long does it usally take until they save our behind? they are not even answering.... Edan: more or less...around 2 hours.... Ice: What? Edan[starts to sit down]: come, have a seat...before you know it...we'll be out of here! Ice: it's easy for you to say.... Edan: you know I can get you out...break out actually...[points to the ceiling of the elevator..] Ice: what you know, I know even better...[she points to the camera] Edan: that's why I was only suggesting... Ice[without alarm...her pager beeps....she reads in her mind]: oh no... Edan: What's the problem? Ice(Yuen is being sent to the hospital...I can't get myself out): do you have your cell? Edan: Yes...but it can't connect in the elevator... Ice: What am I going to do? Edan:.... Ice[starts to cry] Edan: I know you're not going to tell me...but how can I help? Ice[mumbles to herself]: please be alright little guy... Edan[trying to think something good to say that will suit any situation...]: It's going to be alright.... Ice[couldn't control her emotions, she quickly grabbed Edan to hug for reassurance] Edan: Let it out...I'll be there for you....[couldn't control his words as well...] Ice: you don't understand.... Edan: I don't want to understand anymore...as long as you are alright...that's all I care... Ice: why are you so caring, to me? Edan: I...I...[didn't know how to put it...because he himself couldn't explain the feeling...] Ice: please don't like me..[shuttles backwards...] I have a very complicated past.... Edan: you can feel it...so you know my feelings for you....but you can't accept me? Ice: you don't even know me.. Edan: I don't need to and I don't want to....It's been only weeks but it seems like I have known you all my life...this has never occurred to me before...I am as shocking as you. Ice: please, I'm in the middle of a breakdown.... Edan: I don't want to pressure you with anything...it just suddenly all came out. Ice[feels soften by his words]: why are you doing this to me, to me now? [her mother's words suddenly draws to her mind..] (Can I let go of this burden? let go of Dylan?) Will you accept my past? Edan: I don't want to know about your past...I don't even care about you identity... Ice[quickly embraces Edan]: what kind of person are you?? Saw Lo(crazy man), you are really a saw lo... [her pager beeps again. after reading the messae, a big smiles appears...] Everything is back to normal...(he's ok) Edan: What about us? We are not just normal anymore. Ice: of course not...[they embrace tightly again...] [in Yan Oi hospital...] Ice: rushes in...[goes over to the information desk..] I want to know if there is a Lam Yuen sent her early? He is child... Yuen: Bing Jah [a nurse pushes him out in a wheel chair] Ci Ci[walking beside them...]: don't get that frighten, he'll be ok... Ice: Yuen, what happened to you? [sobs again] Yuen: MaMa, don't cry...[whips her tears with his hands] Ice: don't scare you mother like this again. Nurse: it was food poisoning....but he is ok now... Ci Ci: the doctor said he should be out of here within a few days.. [for over a month...Edan and Ice secretly went off together without letting knowledge to anyone about their location...] [the day they return...] Ice: Edan, bring our luggages up first...i want to get some food... Edan: Alright... Ice[heads to a supermarket...her cells rings] Ci Ci[on the other line]: you're finally answering calls? Ice: Ci, what's up? Ci Ci: I figured a way to discover the killer who killed Dylan...[Ice drops the her cell...] |
