Preview: Last chapter, Sum Oiy recognized the boy and went to the station
for a testimony....
Chapter 10
Nam : what are you talking about?
May : Quin and her friend Man was walking with Sum Oiy to the station to pick
me up the day before Chung Bo Wah's death. On the way, while they were
talking, Sum Oiy ran off and when Quin found her she was talking to a little
boy. Last night, while the news was reporting our case, Sum Oiy saw the
photo of Chung Bo Wah and imediately told Quin that that was the gor gor she
was talking to in the streets.
Nam : this proves that hong kong is really that small
May : i guess so, i'm going to bring her into the questioning room
Nam (kneels down to Sum Oiy) : Sum Oiy, you don't have to be afraid, just try
and remember anything particular about . . .
May : LAW SIR
Nam looks up at May unexpected
May (to Sum Oiy) : why don't you wait for me at the water fountain over there?
Sum Oiy nods her head and runs off
May : sorry Law Sir for being so rud but Sum Oiy doesn't know that Chan Bo
Wah is dead. Quin doesn't want her to be scared
Nam : i see, it's okay. Don't be so hard on her later, she's only a little kid
May : yes sir
Nam leaves and May walks up to Sum Oiy. They continued their way to the
questioning room until Fei sees the two walking
Fei : sum oiy ? ??
Fei runs up to May
Fei (calling after her) : May
May sees Fei
May : Tsui Sir
Sum Oiy : Fei suk suk
Fei : good girl (to may) what is she doing here?
May : long story. i'll tell you after we come out from the questioning room.
Fei : questioning room ?
they walked and talked until they arrived to the room
Fei (asking generously) : do you mind if i come in?
May (looking at him) : sure
in the room May sits with Sum Oiy at one side of the table and Fei sits
on the other side.
May : Sum Oiy has to be a good girl. whatever May che che ask you, you have
to answer it, okay?
Sum Oiy : okay
May : can you tell me what happened that day when you saw gor gor?
Sum Oiy : me, mommy, and Man che che were walking down the streets when . . .
**sum oiy flashes back**
Boy is crying
Sum Oiy : why are you crying?
Boy : I am very scared and unhappy.
Sum Oiy pats the boy: don't cry
Boy shakes his head: You won't understand.
Sum Oiy was in silence that showed not understanding of what he just said.
Boy : No one cares about me, I'm scared. I get beat up all the time.
Sum Oiy's face expression became very sad. She understands alittle but not
all.
Sum Oiy : hey, i like your necklace! what does it say?
Boy weeping his tears: my name.
Quin and Man: Sum Oiy, where are you?
Sum Oiy : that's my mom, why don't you meet her?
the boy runs off.
**end of flashback**
Sum Oiy : and then he ran off. I don't really knows what he means but this
is what i remember.
Fei : Sum Oiy, do you remember how the necklace looked like?
Sum Oiy looks around the room : the color is the same as May che che's
bracelet
Fei : you mean gold
Sum Oiy : i think so
May in her mind is thinking of a necklace that Kwok Chi Wah is always
wearing) : Sum Oiy, can you remember if hte necklace looks like this?
may draws it out on a piece of paper
Sum Oiy : it looks similar to that ( hoe chi hie)
may and fei looks at each other
May : that's all, Sum Oiy, you did a nice job
Sum Oiy smiles
May (to fei) i think it's time to bring Sum Oiy back to her mommy. she's
expecting her
fei, may, and sum oiy walked out the door to leave. chi san catches them
in time
Chi San : what is Sum Oiy doing here?
May and Fei : long story
Chi San : we have a meeting in 15 mins
May : but i have to bring her home.
Chi San : is there anyone that can pick her up?
May : i'll call and see. can you watch her for now?
Chi San : sure
May takes out her cell phone and dials
Sum Oiy : i'm, tired
Fei : why don't i carry you?
Sum Oiy : yeah (ho yeah)
Sum Oiy get's on Fei's back
Fei : wow, you're as heavy as a pig
Sum Oiy : am not
Fei : am too
Sum Oiy : am not
Chi San smiles while watching them two argue. May returns
May : her mom is on the way. she'll be here in 10 mins. why don't we bring
Sum Oiy into the lobby and wait for her there
Chi San : okay
May : come on Sum Oiy, get off fei suk suk's back, we have to wait for mommy
Sum Oiy : no, i want to stay on
May : Sum Oiy, you can't be so rude
Fei : it's okay, she's only a little kid. Sum Oiy, why don't i carry you to
the lobby ?
Sum Oiy : yeah
all of a sudden a officer comes up to them
officer : hey tsui sir, i didn't know that you have a daughter? she looks
exactly like you, especially the eyes! congratulations
Fei : no, she's not my daughter
May purposely said: of course she's not Tsui sir's daughter. Look, he's so
dark and she's so white
officer : sorry, mistaken, but she really does look like your daugther
officer smiles and leaves
May : people these days, don't even know what they're talking about
Chi San : come on, let's bring Sum Oiy to the lobby, i'll meet up with you in
the conference room
Fei and May : yes sir
Fei, May, and Sum Oiy are at the lobby, Fei and Sum Oiy are playing
haooily. Quin walks in
Sum Oiy (runs to Quin) : mommy
Quin : sum oiy (carries her into her arms) may, tsui sir. (to sum Oiy) so,
were you good today ? (brushes sum oiy's hair away from her face with her
left hand) what did you do?
Fei (totally shocked) : mommy? when did you get married? i didn't know that
Sum Oiy was your daughter?
Quin: What do you mean? Sum Oiy is always with me. I was so sure that with
Tsui Sir's brains, you should have known already.
Fei notices that there is no ring on Quin's ring finger
Fei (jokingly) : hey, then where's your wedding ring? don't tell me you
still have the habit of losing your wedding ring!
Quin (jokes back) : as a matter of fact, i do, is it illegal? Now you are
going to arrest me?
May : Tsui sir, we have a meeting to go to. Quin, i'll see you tonight
Quin : bye
Sum Oiy : bye fei suk suk, may che che
Fei and May : bye
Quin and Sum Oiy leaves as may and fei head for the conference room
The whole team is in the conference room. Nam is at the board with his
marker
Nam : we are sure that we are dealing with triplets. Kwok Chi Wah, Chung Bo
Wah, and Chung Kin Wah.
Daid : i guess that we can forget about the dna scan!
Korean : this case is very twisted
Fei : well . . . you have two choices. A, solve the case or B, hire a lawyer
Korean : why do i have to hire a lawyer?
David : didn't you hear what mr, chung said? (impersinating him) let me tell
you, i've been paying my taxes all these years, you cops better find out who
killed my son or else you'll be hearing from me and my lawyer.
Korean : i pick A
Chi San : back to serious business.
Sue : hey, isn't it a coincidence that all three boys have the same name
"Wah"
David : i guess it's fate that all three brothers have the same name. but
it's a shame that the third one was separated from the other two.
Chi San: I wonder what happened in between. Why would Chi Wah be separated
from the Chung family and why is his last name Kwok?
Fei: Wait, I understand. The Chungs mentioned nothing about Kwok Chi Wah.
Maybe that means Chung Bo Wah and Chung Kin Wah is not their biological sons.
Nam: That's a thing we have to follow up on.
May : Well, we have Sum Oiy's testimony
Nam: but we can't be sure who she was talking about. it can be either one of
the triplets. i mean, all of them look the same to anyone.
Fei : Yes, it's becoming very confusing. Let's get it straight. There
isn't a good reason for Kwok Chi Wah to say all that to Sum Oiy. Since he
lives in the ophanage all his life, there isn't a great chance of him being
beat by the people there.
May : And kids in the orphanage are not allowed out without adult
supervision. How could he be crying in the streets all alone?
Fei: So there is a bigger chance of either Chung Bo Wah and Chung Kin Wah to
be the one.
Korean: But they are in a rich family, would they really get beaten?
Sue: Who knows, every family has a different story.
Chi San: I suggest we have to get that Chung's family background straight.
Sue : Gong sir, we still have to question the Chung family's maid and the
other brother, Chung Kin Wah
Chi San : Fei and i can go
Gigi : Fei gor, can you handle it (nay deem mm deem ga) ?
Fei : why wouldn't i?
Gigi : better watch what you say or else you'll get sued!
the whole team laughs
fei : i'll try to control myself
Chi San : how's it going with contacting Chan Wing Yee?
Gigi : you don't know how lucky we are. the sister lost her address and . . .
Korean : you call that lucky?
Gigi : wait, listen, so we contacted her family members in Hong Kong and it
turns out that she will be coming back to attend her sister's wedding. so we
can question her all we want when she comes back
Chi San : okay, good work. Gigi, Korean, I'll put you in charge of that
Korean and Gigi : yes ah tow
Chi San : David, Sue, i want you to get any information you can on the Chung
family's background
Sue and David : yes sir
Korean : I really want to see for myself what power this chung sung has to
sue us cops.
Chi San : as for May, i want you to double check with the orphanage and see
if Kwok Chi Wah went out that day before the accident and see if he
recognizes Sum Oiy.
May : yes sir
Chi San : okay, everyone dismiss
Everyone went out, Fei proposely catched up to May and started asking her
questions...
Fei: Hey, May! Errrr.... You are close with Quin, right?
May: What if I say yes and what if I say no?
Fei: Com'on, don't joke around. Errr, just one question. When did Quin get
married? I never heard of it. And to whom?
May: First of all, it's not one question you are asking and secondly, if you
want to know, ask Quin yourself.
Fei: Get real, you saw how she acted talking to me before. I don't know why
she's making a big deal out of this, like making it so mysterical(sun bay)?
May: Excuse me?! If you find this issue so unbelievably hard to accept that
it's big deal to her, than all I can tell you is that, this is not the only
thing you don't know about. There's alot of other things about her you don't
know and will never know!
May madly ignores him and walked away. Fei didn't understand what that was
all about.
Fei talking to himself: Today I finally understand why Chi San said she is a
bootleg(fann bon) copy of me. I finally experienced(ling gow) some of it!
Fei and Chi San arrived at the Chung Family and rings the doorbell, the
Maid went to open the door
Maid : may i help you
Chi San and Fei takes out their badges
Fei : cops (chai yun) is Leung Don here?
Maid : yes, come in
Fei and Chi San walks into the house and looks around
Maid : i'll go call her, would you like anything to drink?
Chi San : no thanks, were fine
the maid goes off
Fei : the house looks pretty normal
Chi San : that's what you think. if it was that normal then we wouldn't have
a case
fei smiles, a woman walks in
Don : im leung don, how can i help you two?
Chi San : are you the maid who takes care of Chung Kin Wah and Chung Bo Wah?
Don : yes
