Preview of Last chapter: May finally told half of Quin's story to the guys.  
Lun finally made a move.  A body is found in Quin's office.  Quin mysterally
disappeared.  May and Nam both believes that Quin can not be the killer.....

Chapter 16

AT THE DISCUSSION ROOM....

Chi San:  Why are you guys so sure?

May:  Quin's left hand has been broken for a period of time and it has no
feeling at all.   She almost totally can't move her hand.  I just found out
recently, when I asked her.  

Fei (I can't believe this.  When? Why? How?) [with an really bad
expression]:  What?

Nam [looking at Fei]:  If you want further proof about this, just ask me
personally.  

Fei:  I will.

Korean:  Ok, now we can be sure that Ms. Mo couldn't have done it.

Chi San:  Yes, but who could the real killer be?

Sue:  Oh, I almost forgot.  I asked the secretary, who was the last client.  
She gave me this guy's name, Alan.  

Fei:  Alan?  

Nam:  Did you find this person's background?

Sue:  No, unfortunately this person did not leave any personal information
but the name
Alan.

May (Alan, Alan, Ah Lun):  It's Fong Hoi Lun.

Gigi:  Oh, yeah!  Alan, Ah Lun.  That could be his english name.

Nam:  That is a possiblity.  But why would Fong Sir do such a thing?

May:  He would do anything to get Quin back.

Gigi:  That mean's that Ms. Mo is in serious danger

Korean:  But what does killing this Ben To, have to do with getting Ms. Mo
back?

May [very serious]:  Do you guys remember at the ball, Lun shook hands with
you guys.  The scar on his hand, is almost the same as the one he did to Ben
To.  Why?  To make Quin remember him.  Remember their past, cause it was Quin
who gave him that scar.

Fei:  He's crazy.  I can't let anything happen to Kwan.  [got up and on his
way walking out]

Chi San:  Fei, in order to help Quin, you have to  calm down yourself.  Sit
down.  [Fei went back to his seat]

May:  He's right.  You, acting like this would only worsen the situation.  
[Fei stayed quiet]

Nam:  Ok, are there any witnesses at that time?

Sue:  No, Ms. Mo was in her room all day taking care of clients.  

Chi San:  So, the last one is Fong Hoi Lun and so how long was it after he
left that the body was found.

Fei:  I remembered it was after work, when May and I came in to Kwan's room,
I immediately went up to probe{to investigate; to examine} the body.  But
strangely Kwan was standing by the window.  Seems to me like she is purposely
looking for something/someone and then to my least notice, she ran out of the
room.  

Nam:  What do you say May, you were there too?

May:  Yeah, I saw it was like that too.
[Chi San saw that May was hesistating and became wonderous about her words]

Nam:  Ok, so far this is what we have.  We will conclude our meeting now.  
Someone inform me as soon as Quin is found.  Dismiss.  [and heads his way
out]  [everyone is troubled and upset, especially Fei]


AT NAM'S ROOM......

Nam:  Sit down.

Fei:  Law Sir, please tell me how Kwan broke her hand.

Nam:  Do you really want to know?

Fei:  Yes, of course.  I just can't believe all these
vicissitudes{unpredictable changes; ups and downs} have occured in Quin's
life, while without my existence during that period.  If I was there, I
wouldn't let it happen.  

Nam:  I'm sure you undertand this.  The past is the past and the present is
the present.  What has happened can not be changed.  

Fei:  Kwan, told you that?

Nam [nodds]:  She have told me many things that I realized now that it has
to do with you.  I finally understand.  I hope you won't feel bad when I tell
you what happened.

Fei:.................

Nam:  Just not so long ago, before we came back to HK is when it happened.  
I realized this.  Quin for some reason, during certain days of the year, she
would go out and buy coffee cake.  It's similar to those "chor yut sup umm"
days thing, where it has became a must do thing for like the past years I
known her.  Unluckly on a stormy day, I remember it was a close to hurricane
days......that day was one of those days where she has to buy coffee cake.  I
was on duty that day, so I wasn't there to stop her.  This is what I heard
from the other cops that brought her to the hospital......it was raining hard
and she tripped over something.  Out of nowhere a small pole fell over and
I'm sure you know what happens next.  

More or less, I don't know, but I'm sure it has to do with you.  I'm not
trying to blame you here but many things that happened to her, has to do with
you.  I don't even think you deserves her to cherish you like that.   But
it's only her that will know if it's deserving or not.  She's not asking
anything from you but just want you to be happy.  [signs]  I don't even know
why I'm telling you all this, you are my competitor.  But like what Quin
wants for you, I want for her also.  Sorry, I'm to upset to continue. [gets
up on his way to leave]  Just help me shut the door on your way out.

IN CHI SAN'S CAR, HE IS DRIVING MAY HOME........

Chi San:  May, what's wrong?

May:  You know, I'm worried.

Chi San [began to shake his head]:  No, it's also something else.  I can
tell, you are hiding something.
May [faces the other way]:  No, I'm not.

Chi San:  May?!  Do you know something?  You have to let us know in order
for us to help Quin.
[Chi San stops the car by the sidewalk and uses his hands to hold May on the
arm to make her face him]:  Look at me.   Tell us what we don't know.

May [slowly puts her head down]:  Ok, I'm quite losted too [hands Chi San
the note Quin handed to her early]  Before Quin left, she handed this to me.

[Chi San takes the note and starts to read]:

***May:  
           Don't worry, I know what's going on.  I know what he's trying to
do again.  I already regained all my memory, past and present clearly.....
everything on the day I saw him/ his hand, at the ball.   All along I
pretended that I don't remember him because I know him too well.   I was
waiting for his move.   I guess he didn't know, so he wasted a life today to
make me remember him.  He finally made a move and it's my turn to take
action.  I am not going sit here and wait for him.  I know him too well to
wait.  He looks normal but inside he is really insane.  I have to exclude{to
prevent; to shut out} him from hurting anyone else.  No matter what, whether
I find him or not, I'll be back.  For Sum Oiy, and for the all that cares for
me.  Where everything started is where everything will end!  

                                                                             
        Quin*******

Chi San:  Were you ever going to show us this note?

May:  Chi San, you have to understand.  Quin purposely gave it to me
personally.  She has her reason for doing that.  But you found out, what can
I do.

Chi San:  Ok, May!  But what did she meant by the last statement?  "Where
everything started is where everything will end"?  

May:  I'm thinking too.  But haven't came up with an answer yet.

Chi San:  I guess you don't have to worry that much, Quin knows what she is
doing.

May:  But still, I'm afraid if she finds him or even worst, vise versa, what
is he going to do to her?

Chi San and May[looked at each other]: ...................


 
AT QUIN'S APARTMENT.................
[The door opens]

Sum Oiy [running toward the door]:  Mommy, mommy!  [May comes in]  [Sum Oiy
was disappointed] Oh, it's only you, Auntie May.  Where is mommy?  Mommy
promised to pick me up today but Auntie Man came instead.   Where is mommy?

May [kneels down]:  Sum Oiy, be a good girl.  Mommy, went to buy you toys
far away, she will be back very soon.  Mommy will always check on you if you
are a good girl.  Remember the better the behavior, the bigger the toy!

Sum Oiy:  Yes, Auntie May.

May [sees Sum Oiy holding a drawing]:  Sum Oiy, what do you have here?  

Sum Oiy:  It's for mommy.   Mommy's b-day is on monday.  This is mommy's
b-day present.  

May [smiles and hugs Sum Oiy]:  Good girl, don't worry.  Mommy will
definitely came back to accept your beautiful drawing.
[while May was talking Man came out and heard, they both wented to cry but
holded it because they are infront of Sum Oiy]

THE NEXT DAY, AT THE HEADQUARTERS.....
[Everyone is busy with work]

Chi San:  May, did you find out Fong Hoi Lun's background??

May:  No, not yet.  I need to pick up Sum Oiy now.  

Fei:  Why don't I help you pick Sum Oiy up.

May:  Ok, thanks, I want to personally do the research on this guy anyway.    
Help me bring her home.  Here are the keys.

Fei:  I don't know where you live.

May:  OH yeah.  [writes down the address]  Here.

Fei:  Ok [and puts the paper into his pocket]

IN FRONT OF SUM OIY'S PRE-SCHOOL...... [the bell rings]

Sum Oiy:   Fei shuk shuk [came running out]

Fei:  Good girl.  Auntie May is busy today, so Fei Shuk shuk will bring you
home today.  [heading to his car]  So, what did you do today at school?

Sum Oiy:  I drew another picture for Mommy.  It's mommy's b-day on Monday.  I
know mommy will like this present.  I have two for her.

Fei:  Yes, Mommy will love it.  Let me see[holds it up], I love it already.

Sum Oiy:  If you like it, I can draw you one too.

Fei: you promise?

Sum Oiy: Yes.  I want to go home and see if mommy came home yet.  I haven't
seem her the whole yesterday already.

Fei:  Don't worry, mommy will come home soon to see your pictures.  Com'on,
little girls are suppose to smile all the time.  Ok, let me see if I have Gum
Mui Peen for you.  [begins to search for his little box]  Hey, where is it??

Sum Oiy:  Oh, Fei Shuk Shuk.  Remember you gave it to me last time and I
forgot to give you it back.  

Fei:  Oh, so you have it.  

Sum Oiy:  Yes, but I lost it.  Sorry.

Fei:  It's ok.  Let me go buy you some now.


GETS INTO THE CAR WITH SUM OIY....

Fei:  Ok, now we have Gum Mui Peen.  Let's go home.  [takes the paper out of
his pocket]  
Do you remember how to get home?  [reads the paper]  You live in here?  I
didn't know.

[drives and stops infront of Quin's apt.  building]   [He turns his head and
realize that across the street is the building of the apt. he bought that
resembles Quin and him.]

Fei [got out of his car and began to stand infront of Quin's building and
then turns his head to look at the other building.  He repeatedly did it a
few times] (I can't believe this, she purposely rented an apt. across to the
one we we're going to buy.   Everything she has done, has to do with me.)

Sum Oiy:  Com'on let's go home.
[They walked in]


INSIDE THE APT.......

Sum Oiy [quickly runs in]:  Mommy?  Mommy?  Are you home. [checks the rooms]  
[comes back out]  Mommy is not home yet?  [made a pout]

Fei:  Don't worry, Mommy will come home very soon.  [Sum Oiy slowly went back
into her room]  
[Fei decided to look around the house.   He stepped into Quin's room.  He
picked up Quin's picture, then accidently dropped a crystal rubber ball, that
looks some what fimilar to him. It rolled under Quin's bed.  He knee down to
reach for the ball.  While doing that, he felt a big box.   Fei, like any
normal human being, with a curious face, slides the box out to see.  His eyes
spead out widely when he saw what was in the box.....]



BACK TO THE HEADQUATERS......
[Fei walks in]  Chi San:  Fei?  

Fei [not paying attention, didn't hear Chi San, he was still thinking
endlessly....]

Chi San:  Fei?? [pats him on the shoulders]

Fei: Huh?  What?  Oh, Chi San.

Chi San:  You must be still worried about Quin.  

Fei:  Yes and I was just thinking.
[May comes along]  May:  Fei, so you have brought Sum Oiy back already?

Fei:  Yes, I stayed until Man came home.

May:  Thanks.  Oh, we are having a meeting in a few minutes.


AT THE DISCUSSION ROOM.....
Nam:  May.  So what info have you amass{to collect or gather} on Fong Hoi Lun?

May:  Fong Hoi Lun is 33 years old.  He sucessfully joined the police force 4
years ago in England but was just recently transfer to HK.  He has only a
uncle, Ho Sir, Ho Ming.  No other family members left.  

Nam:  Ok.  That's all the basic stuff.  Was any witnessess found having to
seen Fong Hoi Lun at the scene of the crime?  

Korean:  No, it seems like no one saw him.  

Chi San:  I really wonder how he could have killed someone and then actually
hid it in Quin's office closet and get away.  Then later on, go for an
appointment and leave again.

Gigi:  He must have everything planned out.  

May:  Remember we said Quin was acting really weird when we ran in to her
room.  And we saw that she was standing near the window.  I think she was
purposely looking for Fong Hoi Lun.  He must be standing somewhere across the
building, which made her ran down.

Chi San: I believe Quin is still looking for him now otherwise she would  
have been back.  She promised to come back whether she finds him or not.

Fei:  How did you know that?

Chi San [hands the note to Fei]:  Here read this.  She gave it to May before
she ran off.

Fei [finished reading it]:  Why does she sound like she is going to solve
this problem all by herself.  By doing this she is already not letting us
help.  

May:  You are wrong.  I have a feeling she's not.  But I can't think of how
yet.

Fei:  What does she mean by "where every started is where everything going to
end".

Chi San:  That is the big IQ question for now.

Nam:  It's hard for outsiders to know what she means.  We don't know
everything between Quin and Lun.  But I still can't believe no one saw him
wondering around the building???

Fei:  Korean, did you ask Quin's secretary?  She couldn't have missed him.

Korean:  Oh, I forgot, I made a blunder {error/mistake made out of stupidity
or ignorance} It's not like I carry that guys picture around.

Nam:  Ok, Korean.  Get to it now.  We need someone to prove that this guy was
at the scene.

Korean:  Yes, Sir.  [Someone knocked on the door]

Officer;  Law Sir.  Miss Mo is waiting outside.

Tin and Marianne:   Now Lun is the lead suspect to all this.  Quin has came
back.  Where was she all along?  So did she find Lun?  What is Lun going to
do next?  Does anyone know what Quin meant in her note?.........
