Preview of Last Chapter: A rape case began, May showed great discomfortness. A Stanley guy is after Quin.... May met Vincent back and both acted strangely.... May finally told Quin her problem.... She was raped.... Gigi made a big mistake and misunderstood everything. When the words traveled up to Fei, it turned out to be that Quin was raped.....


Chapter 22


AT THE HEADQUARTERS......

Korean: What? What are you talking about? How can Ms. Mo be raped?

Fei: I don't believe it.

Sue: Are you positive Gigi?

Gigi: I really heard it in the bathroom. They were both there. Ms. Mo was crying hard.

Fei [shaking his head]: No, I can't believe it.

Korean: Ok, did you hear who did it atleast?

Gigi: They just mentioned a raper. Nothing else. I was so bumbed out to hear it too.

[Fei couldn't take it anymore and ran out....out of the police station.]

Everyone yelled out: Fei Gor? Fei? [Minutes later, May came back in, acting normal...]

May [wondering]: Why do you all look like this? Is there something wrong? [Noticed that Fei is not here] Where's Fei?

Korean: May, you don't have to pretend anymore. We know what happened.

May: What are you talking about?

Gigi: Sorry May, I was in the bathroom and I kinda heard everything.

May: You heard, what exactly did you hear?

Gigi: The raping thing, you know.

May [May feared most was to have everyone know her tragic.]: What? [Felt alittle ashamed]

Sue: It's so sad now that we all know. [quietly saying] Poor Ms. Mo.

May [surprised]: What, what did you say?

Sue[stammering]: I said, poor Ms. Mo. Fei Gor is so depressed when he heard this. He ran out.

May [shocked]: You're saying Quin got raped? [signed and ran out] [On the way, bumped into Nam] [Didn't bother to say sorry and continued running out]

Nam: May? May? [He ran after her] [Outside the police station, Nam caught up with May] May, May? What's wrong? Are you ok? [May turned around and faced him] May? Why are you crying?

May (I feel extremely bad now. Everyone misunderstood and are now saying that Quin got raped. I don't know what to do. I could have just stood up there and clarified everything but why? Why didn't I have the guts to? Why did I ran down here instead? Yes, I know, I can't face it, I couldn't have face all those eyes staring at me if I really told them. I know I'm being selfish, it's very unfair to Quin....) [May still crying]

Nam: May? Can you tell me what's wrong? Maybe I can help.

May [Wiped parts of her tears]: Law Sir, can you walk with me?

Nam: Yes, that's not dificult. I'll accompany you, and when you feel you are ready to tell me, I'll be there.

[May forced a smile and began to walk....Nam walked by her side]



INSIDE THE POLICE STATION....
Chi San [came in]: Guys, briefing in 5 minutes. [Then noticed people are missing] Hey, where's everyone? New info was just passed in. Now, even Law Sir isn't here?! What happened here? [Chi San was looking for an answer from anyone, everyone stayed shut] Ok, I don't want to know now, we still have to have the meeting very soon whether they come back or not.

Everyone peeped out: Yes, Gong Sir.


IN THE DISCUSSION ROOM....
Chi San: Here, [passed the folders around] other cops found out this info during their investigation on the school for another case. They thought it might be helpful for us. According to this, we have found someone to be suspected about. He is the college professor who teaches Fannie. He is the only male we can find that Fannie knows. During our investigation, the house didn't show anyone breaking in entrance of any kind. We can guess that the killer must be someone Fannie knows, otherwise she wouldn't have let that person in the house. We can be sure of that.

Korean: Cheng Huck?! His name even sounds annoying. I have done alot of these similar cases. Usually some gentle, neat looking male teacher turns out to be a nut case raper on their female students. That's how theses things goes. But so far, this is the monstrous one I've ever seen.

Gigi: Ok [reading out of the folder], The professor is called Vincent Cheng Huck. Age 33. Has been teaching for 5 years in that college, since he came back from England 8 years ago. So far, we can't find any criminal records of him.

Chi San: Even so, we can not let this guy loose. We can't take chances besides he is our only target for now.

Sue: So, this is what we got so far?

Chi San: Pretty much it. Ok, Gigi and Korean, I want you two to follow Cheng Huck for atleast 24 hours. If anything comes up, contact us immediately. Sue, go contact all Fannie's friends, other neighbors, anymore that may know Fannie and ask if they know anything. David, give me a detailed report on Cheng Huck's background, from top to bottom. You two, {Some other cops} see if you can find any witnesses. I will go to the studio and make an commerical about this case, giving the hotline out to see if it might help. Ok, everyone, go to work. I will inform those who have missed this meeting later.

Everyone: Yes, Sir.



AT FEI AND QUIN'S APT.....
[Fei is just sitting on the couch, restlessly thinking and thinking.... many thoughts came and went.] (I'm so lost now. I can't believe what I just heard hours ago. I know I shouldn't be thinking this way but after today, what are the possibilities of Sum Oiy being my daughter now? I love Quin so much, I can't believe I'm even pondering on this possibility...But I can't help to notice that Sum Oiy's characteristics are very much like me. I still had hope before that I may have a daughter but after today, this hope may pop infront of my face within hours.....I need the truth...) [Signs]


QUIN, AFTER WORK, COMES OUT OF HER HOME BUILDING'S PARKING LOT.....
[Quin taking out her keys....Fei shows up and comes along...]

Quin [smiling]: Yee, Fei? What are you doing here? (I just remembered something..) You really bought it? You came out of there? [points to their apt.]

Fei [serious]: I came to find out the truth, the truth again. I know I have asked you this question before and you have given me an answer but I want to ask again.

Quin: You sound very serious.

Fei: It's about Sum Oiy.

Quin: I don't understand why we are bringing up this subject again....[Fei interrupted her]

Fei: Kwan, please don't lie to me again. Is Sum Oiy really my daughter?

Quin [signed]: Ok, by now, I don't want to lie to you anymore. Yes, she is your daughter, Sum Oiy is your daughter.

Fei: Really?

Quin [wondering]: Is it me or somehow your remark seems dubious over my answer. I'm beginning to find it funny. When I actually do tell you the truth, now you don't believe me. For Sum Oiy and I, no matter if you decided to or not to autorize yourself as her father, it's really senseless now. Today I have given you the real answer, whether you believe me or not, I do not care as much anymore. [Inbetween, not far away from them, Quin noticed someone hiding behind the corner...] (Chin Chin?) That's all I have to say. [smiled]

Chin Chin (I have been standing here ever since their conversation started. I'm as surprised as Quin to hear this from Fei. Can't believe Quin really told Fei that Sum Oiy is really his daughter. Why? Why is she back trying to take Fei away from me again? I know Fei will go back to that woman because of their daughter. I can't let it happen, I won't.....)

Fei: Is it the truth? {Hai mai jung ga?} Were you raped before?

Quin [smiled slowly turns into a frown]: Raped? [Moved her head over and then back.] I don't understand what you two here today are doing? And I have no more interest into knowing why you came here to confront me? First Sum Oiy, now me being raped?

Fei: Two, what do you mean two?

Quin [pissed, folded her arms and looked away]: What are you two doing? I don't believe there are such coincidence. Now, you are going to tell me she followed you here?

Fei [Fei turned his head to look back...surprised]: Chin Chin? [Chin Chin walked up] Why are you here?

Chin Chin: I was looking for you and I took a guess. And guess what, here you are.

Fei [slowly dropped his head down and then up again]: I don't know what's going on.

Quin: If you two have problems, I'll be glad to help you out. Just make an appointment with me. But I can't believe what's happening now.

Fei: I'm sorry but I have to know the truth.

Quin: Me being raped?

Fei: Yes, Gigi said she heard you and May talking about it in the bathroom.

Quin [shocked, face totally changed] (What, Gigi heard our conversation and she told everyone that "I" got raped? Then she most have misinterpret our conversation. But what am I going to do now? Tell what really happened? No, I can't do this to May. She has suffered alot already. Because of this it has affected her life deeply. I don't want it to affect her after I tell the truth. I can imagine what she will be going thru if this incident is told out. Then I have no choice but to be affirm... but I know if I do tell the truth, Fei will... no, I can't even think this way. I promised I will not interfere into their relationship again. Yes, I will not tell....) Think whatever you what. I rest my case. We are only friends, you have no business into asking me this.

[Fei felt heart-broken to hear this but she knows Quin is just trying to keep distances anyway, to not let Chin Chin misunderstand them.]

Chin Chin [Suddenly jumped in]: You see, she's not even going to defend herself. I say she must have been raped and now she is going to tell you that Sum Oiy is your daughter, to make you go back to her. That's it. How could you?! [May is running toward them, as she has heard the most boiling remark. Nam came behind her..]

Fei [Got so furious, turned to Chin Chin and unexpectingly, quickly landed a SMACK on her face..]: How can you be so disrespectful? Do you even know what you are saying? Quin has always worried about hurting you and this is what you give in return? The Chin Chin I used to know would never say such things.


Tin and Marianne: As you all read, Fei slapped Chin Chin???? Yes, you are not seeing things! Chin Chin has sure changed and believe us, she's quite deserving for that slap. But from Fei? That's least expected. Now, what will happen to Fei and Chin Chin's relationship. It clearly shows that Fei slapped her mainly of Quin. Will they hang on or depart their relationship? Will Quin and Fei finally be together at last? Do you think Chin Chin will let go that easily? What if Sum Oiy knows about this? Is Vincent truely the one who raped Fannie? Gotta keep on reading....
