Preview of Last Chapter: May reveals her relationship with Vincent. Vincent was brought back to the station for questioning. In the tennis court, people seemed to pop up behind everyone, one after another... Stanley suddenly showed up. Fei and Quin decided to tell Sum Oiy the truth. Sum Oiy didn't understand and didn't want to understand. They all enjoyed their day of a good tennis game. When about to leave, Quin went over to greet Stanley a "Bye". She heard chatting, so she stopped entering. She is listening to their conversation....
Chapter 25
ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE TENNIS FIELD.... Quin stood near the gate to listen...
Vincent: What? Who are you targeting now?
Stanley: Oh stop the pestering. It's not your girl, ok. [At this moment, Man was walking over to rush Quin]
Quin [In seeing Man, she quickly ran over to stop Man before she even came close.]: Man, what are you doing coming back?
Man: To get you. They are leaving.
Quin [Pushing Man to leave]: Ok, let's go.
Man: What are you doing? I can walk myself.
Quin: They are waiting, let's go. [Man felt Quin was acting a bit weird but didn't bother to ask..]
AT A MEXICAN RESTURANT.... everyone is eating.
[Sum Oiy sat between Quin and Fei. They purposely arranged that.]
Quin: Sum Oiy. You are making a mess. [Wipes the sauce off of Sum Oiy's face]
Sum Oiy[She also noticed something]: Mommy. You have spaghetti sauce on your nose. [points]
Quin [smiles]: Oh really! Mommy is messy too. [Uses her index finger to spread the sauce away] [At that moment, Chin Chin began to stare at Quin. She remembered that she use to do that when she ate noodle. Quin then noticed Chin Chin's staring, she quickly picked up her glass of water and looked the other way.]
Sum Oiy: Mommy, the meat is too big.
Quin [Still holding her glass of water]: Ok, hold on, let me cut it for you.
Fei: Ah, Sum Oiy, Mommy is busy. Why don't I do it for you. [Grabs her plate and started the cutting.]
Quin: What have Mommy taught you? When someone help you, you have to say thank you! Remember?
Sum Oiy: Yes. [turns to Fei] Thank you...[Everyone was waiting for Sum Oiy to call Fei, father!] thank you, Shuk Shuk.
Quin: Sum Oiy, Mommy just told you before that he is....
Fei: No, Kwan. [shook his head] Don't force her.
Quin [Nodded her head]: So, talk everyone. Why so quiet?
Nam: I was actually enjoying this family moment! [Fei and Quin smiled]
Chi San: Of course, Sum Oiy can be so sweet and cute!
Man: Like mother, like daughter.
Quin: Stop...we are turning red! [Fei hands the plate back to Sum Oiy... She began to eat..]
[Suddenly Sum Oiy shouted out]
Sum Oiy: Teacher Leung. [They all look up and Stanley was walking up to them. Followed by Vincent]
Stanley: Hi, everyone. Quin, do we call this fate or what? Twice in a day!
Quin [forcefully led out a smile, sarcastically speaking...]: Yeah, what a coincidence. Isn't this a small world after all!
Stanley: Stop the joking. I won't bother you guys now. My table is over there! Oh, haven't introduce to you guys right?
Chi San: No need. We all know Mr. Cheng here, don't we?! [May kept on eating her food, didn't bother to look up]
Vincent: Let's just go. [walks off]
Stanley: Sorry about him. Don't know what's got into him. Bye. [walks off]
Quin: May, May? He's gone. You're going to drown yourself with that food.
[May stopped eating and wiped her mouth]
Man: May, are you ok?
May: May I be dismissed, I'm not feeling too well. [Got up and walked out]
Quin: May? [Got up too]
Nam: No, sit down. I'll follow her.
OUTSIDE OF THE RESTAURANT....
Nam: May? May? What's got into you? [Saw that May got into her car] May, where are you going? [May droved off...so Nam quickly step into his car and drove after her]
IN NAM'S CAR...
[Nam took out his phone and dialed May's cell #. But it turned out that May has already turned off her cell phone. Nam continued to follow May's car...until she stopped her car...]
IN FRONT OF QUIN'S APT. BUILDING.....
[May parked her car and ran up the building....Nam followed behind her. May took out her keys and opened the door. She immediately turned on the stero system with a high volume and ran in to the bathroom. Nam slowly pushed the door open and closed it. He
understands that this is May's way of expressioning her malaise{discomfort; uneasiness}. He took a seat, don't know what he's waiting for but just to accompany May. Seconds later, the sound of sprinkling water coming out from the showers.]
IN THE BATHROOM...
[May kept on scrubing herself, scrubing hard. Scrubing away the dirt only she can see. Tears began to role down. She doesn't know what she's doing.]
[After a while, she came out, wraped herself with towels.]
Nam: May? May, are you ok? I thought you are over it.
May[walking out, carrying a devastating look]: I thought so too. But I thought wrong. Until today, I realized that I can't even stand the site of him. The fact that he's living in good condition, makes me feel even worst. [raised her voice] Why, why is it so unfair? He's leading an happy life and all I get is unhealed pain and sores. [Began to cry again, this time on Nam's shoulders.]
Nam: May, if you know, then you shouldn't even be here doint this. It's not worth it, he's not worth it. He won't know or feel sorry for you. May, get a hold of yourself. [hold on to May's arm...facing each other]
May: But I feel so dirty, so weak. [Started to rub her arms]
Nam: Dirty? Everyone knows, I'm Mr. Clean. Don't worry, I'll make you as pure as spring water. Weak? You got me. I'll be your protector. [Realized he just made a commitment.]
May [looked up at Nam and chuckled]: Even you lines are as corny. [paused] But I really appreciated what you are doing.
Nam [smiled]: Sooo, did it work?
May: You are right. He won't know. He won't care. I'm only hurting myself. [Dried her tears away with her hands]
Nam: And the people who alot cares for you.
May: Yes, I won't let you guys down. I promise. [They both smiled at each other...then May finally realized that she is half naked wondering around the livingroom.] Umm, I think I'll go back in to change.
Nam[acting like a poping zit, hopped inches away.]: Oh, I'm so sorry. [Just stood there like a wood]
May[looking a Nam weirdly and laughed]: That was a big reaction! [walked and shouted] Stop looking at me like I have koodies or something for crying out loud. [closed the bathroom door.]
IN QUIN'S CAR....
Quin [talking into her cell, while driving..]: Oh, it's great to hear that. So, it's fine to go home now? Ok, good. You're leaving so soon? My baby was asking for you. But she's asleep now. Ok, yeah. It's getting late anyway. [holds for a sec] Wait, stop. What is this, your second puberty? What's with your voice? No, you can't tell me later. What's wrong with speaking thru our cells? Hey, don't try that hang up on me trick. Hey, hey. [duddddddddddd...] He hung on me. How rude.
Man: What is it? You sound funny.
Quin: He sounds funny, not me. He's scarying me!
NEXT DAY...AT THE HEADQUARTERS....
Nam[just entered]: How is the case going?
Korean: We went after alot of students but they all wouldn't talk.
Nam: This case is becoming a drag. We are taking too long to solve it.
May [comes in]: Atleast we haven't seen another dead victim for the past week. We should feel lenient for that.
[Nam saw May coming. His heart started to pound a great deal which only he can hear. He quickly turned the other way and walked back to his room.]
Korean: What's with Law Sir?
[May shooked her shoulders]
AFTER WORK....IN QUIN'S OFFICE....
Secretary, speaking thru intercom: Wait, you have one last client.
Quin: Ok, send him/her in. [releases the button] [Knock Knock] Come in.
Nam [rushed in and took a seat infront of Quin]: I'm all lost now.
Quin [moved back and looked at Nam weirdly]: What do you mean you're lost? Ok, whatever you mean, you've came to the right place. [putted her right hand on top of her left hand on the table] How can I help?
Nam: I think... nah, you're going to laugh at me.
Quin: No, I won't. Com'on. Hey, you sound like yesterday, on the phone! I've never heard and seen this side of you before. [moved closer and pointed at Nam] Money or woman?
Nam [gently sway Quin's finger away]: Do I look like I have money problems?
Quin: Oh, then it's woman. [speaking in a joking way] What kind of woman has the power to drive our "Wooden Box of Kleenex" go insane? That use to be me!
Nam: Ha, very funny. [became serious] Tell me the truth, I really look and act like a neat freak?
Quin: It's not a bad thing. But..
Nam: There's a "but"?
Quin: But you sometimes go off the line, if you know what I mean. And that adds up to what you say which sounds and makes you...[Noticed Nam isn't enjoying it] I'll shut up.
Nam: ...............
Quin: At another point of view, it's just you. It's not a problem at all. Hmmm, I can tell you have an eye for someone. Who is it?
Nam: I'm not telling you.
Quin [shocked]: You mixed me and now you're not going to cook me?
Nam: I'll see you. [Got up and walked out]
Quin [shouted]: Hey, then what's your point of coming here anyway? Just want to get back at me, bringing this forever torture? [The door slamed] Hm, not like if you don't tell me, I don't know. [smiles]
AT NIGHT...THE THREESOME TALK AGAIN...[all 3 sitting in Quin's bed]
May: Quin? Quin? [tapped Quin's shoulder]
Quin[daydreaming]: Huh? What? [finally paid attention to them] Oh, I just have alot in mind.
Man: Care to share? This is our whole purpose isn't it?
Quin: It's ok, now. I have made a decision already. I won't tell you now, it's a surprise.
May: So secretive all of a sudden!
Man: Ok, if you're that happy, you go pick your own daugther up from now on. It not like I'm not willing to but a few other kids needs me more at the orphanage.
Quin: But Man....I would have to see that Stanley. Not like he's not bugging me enough with the daily presents. I can start selling you flowers now!
Man: Hey, calm down, he's not always there. For the past month, he has only been teachering for a few times in every week. He's been skipping days anyway, and to my count, he won't be in tomorrow.
Quin: Umm, that's odd. Isn't he a full-time teacher at Sum Oiy's school?
Man: I ask Sum Oiy before, she said that Stanley teachers a few days in Sum Oiy's school and a few days in another school. Oh, I heard it was HKU.
May: HKU? That's where that damn rapist teaches.
Quin: May, do you see a connection?
May: Connection, what connection?
Quin [Realized May didn't hear what she have heard so their thoughts are not going the same way.]: Maybe, I'm just too delicate. These things can be simultaneous. [She didn't want to worry her]
Man: Ok. So, are you picking her up or not?
Quin: Umm, I can't. I know, she's my daughter, my responsibility. Really couldn't rely on other people....
Man: Ok, Ok. Why do I always fall for that??
Quin: Thanks. My daughter is counted on you guys for a while!
May[shifted away]: Hey, don't pull me in to this. [Man and Quin looked at each other and then pulled May closer. The 2 nodded their heads, meaning May has no way out!]
NEXT MORNING....
[Quin was wide awake 7:20 in the morning. She almost got ready to leave the house. She sat down and wrote a note:
Dear Man and May,
I will be out for these few days. Trust me it's worth the waste of these few days. I will be back as soon and I'm sure everyone would be alarmed! Especially be happy for me! So, please take good care of my little button for me. Thanks and Bye!

She left the note on the kichen table and left the apt. After a while, caused by the wind coming from the opened window, the note was blown inbetween the slot of the refrigerator and stove....]
[May slam dunked her alarm clock and went back to sleep when it rang at 7:30. Man rushed in to May's room, noticing that they are going to be late.]
Man: May! Wake up. It's almost 8. [pull away May's blanket] Ahh, I have to wake Sum Oiy. [rushed out of the room]
[Later, Sum Oiy was brushing her teeths while Man was getting dressed and May cooking breakfast.]
Sum Oiy [walked out of the bathroom, while still brushing her teeth, and mumbled]: Auntie May. Where's mommy?
May [Busy cooking]: Huh? Sweety, what are you saying? Oh, don't get the toothpaste on the floor, go back in the bathroom.
Sum Oiy [tilted her head as she turned the other direction]: I just wanted to know where mommy is.
[Now, they are about to leave the house...]
Man: May, got the keys?
May[Flinged the keys]: Right here.
Man: Money?
May [felted her pocked]: Got it.
Man: Sum Oiy?
May [grabed and raised Sum Oiy's hand]: Checked!
Sum Oiy: Mommy?
Man: Mommy? [May and Man looked at each other]
May: Omigod!
Man and May: Where's Quin?......
AT THE HEADQUARTERS....TWO DAYS HAVE PASSED....
[May twirling her pen at her desk...]
Gigi [patted May]: May? What's up?
May [smiled back]: Oh, nothing.
[Everyone was there, at their position. Then a madamn came in]
Madamn: Here, there's a letter mailed designated to this group. [Hands it to Nam.]
Gigi: That's weird.
Korean: Law Sir, open it. [the letter is opened. Nam and Korean are reading it.] Hey, there's new info. {Wei, yau lue dou ah.] [It caught everyone's attention. They all gathered together. They all got a hold and read the letter.]
Chi San: According to this, then we have been mislead by this person all this time.
Gigi: So, now it's not Vincent?
May: I don't believe this. How can this be. [Grab the letter and read it again on her own]
Nam: We can't be too sure only based on this anonymous letter.
Fei: This person really doesn't want to be found. Aside from no return address, he/she even typed the letter.
Chi San: Why does this person know so much?
Sue: Can it be a student?
Korean: Most likely to explain this info he/she got.
May [burst in]: I remember. In this letter, mentioned that beside Cheng Huck(Vincent), Leung Teet Lok(Stanley) also teaches at HKU. During my conversation with Man and Quin, we brought that up too. Man told us that Stanley teaches part-time in Sum Oiy's school and in HKU.
Chi San: How does Man know?
May: She encountered it from Sum Oiy and the times she goes picking her up.
Nam: The letter even say that Stanley also teaches Fannie. So that proves that Stanley can also have contact with Fannie.
Chi San: David, go contact HKU and ask about a professor name Leung Teek Lok.
David: Yes, San gor. [goes off]
Nam: We are finally getting somewhere. But it doesn't mean that Vincent is out of our watch now.
May: Wait, there's something strange. I think I should bring it up. When Man, Quin and I talked about Stanley, Quin asked me if I know the connnection. I didn't know what she was talking about before but know I think I got it. But how does she know?
Fei: Do we need Kwan now?
May: I don't think so. She haven't been home for the last few days.
Fei: What?
May: At first, I didn't worry about it because I saw that she packed some belongings and even called for a week vacation at work. But now, I'm having second thoughts.....
Tin and Marianne: The arrows have turned to Stanley now! Who may Stanley be after now? Who is this anonymous person who leaked out this precious info? Now, they all misleads that Quin might be in trouble. But she really isn't. Where is she then? What surprise is she planning for? Since she knows certain parts, will she uncover the missing pieces later on? Nam slowly accomplishes that she has a thing for May, when and how will he tell her? Stay tune....
