Chapter 5

Ah Hoi : what are you talking about?
Ah Lung : You killed my sister and now you're going to pay for what you did
Ah Lung takes out a gun
Ah Hoi : No, you got it all wrong. It didn't happen that way, she . . .
Ah Lung interrupts : Shut up
Ah Hoi : I swear to god, I didn't kill her
Ah Lung : God will never believe you. God is on our side. God will protect those who work for him
Ah Hoi : what are you talking about?
Ah Lung walks toward him with the gun pointing at him : There are those who will go to heaven and those who will go to hell.
God knows whether you've been faithful to him or not. I know for sure that my sister is in heaven and i will soon join her. (in
an angry voice) But for you . . .once i pull the trigger, you will go straight to hell.
Ah Hoi : Im faithful to god, i 've done nothing wrong.
Ah Lung : Shut up you piece of trash. You aren't faithful to god at all. Have you killed anyone for him. huh, have you.?
Ah Hoi ; I can, I can too, don't kill me now, I can ne faithful
Ah Lung : It's too late now
Ah Lung pulls the hatch on the gun and places the gun at Ah Hoi's head
He’s getting ready to pull the trigger when . . .

Chi San : Cops, don't move!
The entire team was there along with other cops running toward Ah Hoi and Ah Lung carrying guns but making sure not to
make any mistakes.
Ah Lung : Don't come near me or else i'll shoot.
Chi San whispers to Korean : We have to calm him down, call Miss Mo for help.
Korean puts his gun away and walks away dialing on his cellular phone
Fei talking to Ah Lung : Don't be so stupid, why don't you turn yourself in.
Chi San : Confess now and maybe the judge will lessen your sentence.
Ah Lung : Shut up. You cops think you can get to me with that. Well let me tell you. I don't need the judge to lessen my jail
time. You know why cause im not going to jail.
korean runs back.
Korean : Miss Mo is around the neighborhood, She'll be here in five minutes top.
Chi San : Tell me why you are doing this?
Ah Lung : You want me to tell you why, I'll tell you why, this bastard killed my sister.
Ah Hoi : I didn't.
Ah Lung (forcing the gun harder against ah hoi's face) : Shut up!
May : How do you know? What evidence have you got?
Ah Lung : I don't need no evidence. I saw it with my two eyes.
Chi San : Tell us what happened and we'll help you.
Ah Lung : I don't need your help. I don't even need to listen to you talk about bullshit. After i kill him, I can go where my
sister is.
Fei : Don't do it.
Ah Lung looking at the sky: Sister, after I get your revenge, I am coming up to see you.
Ah lung seems like he is getting ready to shoot Ah Hoi.
Quin runnig toward the gang of police : No, don't do it. Ah Lung, don’t!
She stand's between sunny and fei.
Quin : Ah lung, don't do this. What about your father and mother. They've already lost their daughter. Do you want them to
lose their only child too. You still have a change to turn back.
Ah Lung : I can't. It's too late.
Quin : No it's not.
Ah Lung (crying) : It is.
Quin : Trust me, you can. All you have to do is face yourself. That's the first step you have to take.
Ah Lung (screaming and crying at the same time) : I can't, I can't, Im so confused.
Quin : Ah Lung, I know that you can do it. Let me help you. Listen to me.
Quin walking closer to Ah Lung: Ah Lung, give me the gun, you can do it.
Ah lung takes the gun and points it to Quin instead. Ah Lung pulls the trigger. Fei immediately pulls Quin aside while at the
same time Chi San shoots at Ah Lung. Ah Lung is lying on the beach and Gigi and Korean cuffs him and helps him onto the
ambulance. Fei saw that Quin was ok, he quickly hugs Quin tightly. May runs up to see if Quin was ok.
Quin: Fei, don’t do this again. You have to let go.
Fei(signs) and let go of Quin slowly.
May: Quin are you ok? It’s all over, let’s go.
Chi San talking to Ah Hoi: Hoi, you have alot of explaining to do.

Hours passed and Ah Lung had survived the bullet. He is being questioned at the hospital while Sunny and Fei are
questioning ah Hoi

Ah Hoi : How did you know that i was involved in the case?
Chi San : May suspected you and told me. I sent people to follow you and when we saw that Ah Lung was waiting for you
we took action right away
May : how do you think we got there just in time to save your ass
ah hoi is shocked by the news and shoved his head into his hands
Chi San : I think by now, you should just tell us the truth
Hoi: It all started few weeks ago. (flashbacks) I met Candy at the night club. She was the only one there that attacts me. I
couldn’t lay my eyes get off her. She saw me looking at her so she came over and we talked
Candy: I see you’re interested. Care to go out for a spin (yow chei hall).
Hoi confessing: We ended up sleeping together at this hotel. After that night, I thought it was only a one night stand but
somehow she got my number and kept on calling me. I couldn’t get rid of her so I had to stay with her.
May loud and uncalm: Why are you playing her, if you don’t like her? Do you know you’re wasting her time? Nevermind, just
continue
Hoi: She was like a ghost who wouldn't let me go (yun gowh cheen sun). But we did have some happy times together...
May madly interupts: Happy times in the bed?
May bangs the clipboard that she was writing Hoi's statement against the desk which made hoi jump a little.
Chi San: May, calm down, let him talk. Hoi, continue
Hoi: One day I couldn't take her anymore and went up to her apt. to talk to her
and tell her it's over.
(flashback)Candy: What are you talking about? Aren't you happy with me?
Hoi: Yes, but this isn't the happiness that I'm looking for.
Candy: You're ashame of my job isn't it? You don't like me being with other men is that it?
Hoi: No, it's just that we don't really have that much in common. Why don't we just
break it off.
Candy: Fine, get out. I don't want to see you again.
Candy pulls him up and pushed him out the door. she bangs the door at him and starts crying.
Hoi confessing: I thought that that would be the last time we'll see each
other. but two days later, while i was walking around in the streets, she called me.
(flashback) Hoi walking: hello
Candy : it's me
Hoi : i told you already, we're through
Candy : i know, but i want to see you one last time, i promise. after tonight i'm going to immigrate to America to start over.
Hoi : okay, where do you want to meet and what time?
Candy (in a happy voive) : 9 sharp at the beach where we had our first dinner.
Hoi : okay.
Hoi confessing : i had doubts about going even though i told her that i would go.
May : so if you didn't go you would have left her waiting at the beach. are you cold hearted.
Chi San to Hoi : continue.
Hoi : i still went anyway.
(flashback) Hoi is walking toward the candlelight dinner Candy made
Candy: Glad to see you here. I made alot of food.
They both sat down.
Candy: Don't worry, after this, i won't bug you anymore
they began to eat.
Hoi : this is really good.
Candy : it'll taste even better if you eat it with some wine.
candy gets up and poors some wine while Hoi was still eating. she walks back to Hoi with the two wine glass and gives on
to ah hoi. he drinks all of it and then notices a spot on Candy's dress.
Hoi : oh look, you dropped some sauce on your dress.
Candy : oh, im such a messy person.
Hoi : let me help you. people have said that you should wash the stain out before it's too late. hey, you can use the salt
water.
Hoi grabs the napkin and they walk towards the water. a few minutes passed and they walk back to the table.
Hoi : hey you forgot to drink your wine.
Candy : oh, i was thinking we could make a toast.
Hoi : i finished mine already, don't worry i'll pour more.
Candy : i'll help you.
Hoi : no i can do it myself.
runs to the wine bottle and poors himself another glass and walks back to Candy.
Hoi : I wish you best of lucks in America.
Candy : thanks.
both candy and hoi finished their wine and continued their dinner. after a while, hoi felt a bit dizzy. he had soon fell asleep.
The next thing he knew was that Candy was dead lying on the sand faced down. He was too shocked Candy's death. He
immediately cleaned up all the stuff that Candy made and left the beach. (end of flashback)
May : Do you have any human sense? how can you just leave her lying there.
Hoi : I didn't know what had happen. I was asleep the whole time
Chi San : so what did you do next?
Hoi(flashback): I immediately ran to her home and made sure that she didn' have any of my stuff. Since not much people
has seen us together, I purposely wrote a no name letter saying to break up trying to mislead you guys from suspecting me.
I knew that you would go to her apartment to search for evidence. after that, I went home and took a cold shower. that was
when i noticed that i had been cut. I didn't know when i had been hurt or how. but that wasn't the issue then. Istarted to
suspect that it was Candy's doing when you told me about the religion thing. (end of flashback)
Chi San : The report said that candy had died from overdose of sleeping pills.
Hoi : I don't know anything about that.
Chi San has an confused expression....
